012.
This is all starting to remind me of that old Twilight Zone episode where the government wants to find out how quickly the people in a small town will turn on each other, and they run an experiment on Maple Street. They cut the power to all the houses except one, with no explanation why that one house was spared, and then they just sit back and time how long it takes the rest of the people on that street to decide that one family must be pinko commie supporters and start throwing bricks through their windows. "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street," I think it was called. It might have been Soviet spies running the tests, it's been a long time since I saw it. Anyway, the point of the episode was that it didn't take very much or very long for them all to tear each other apart.

If this is going to be a Sadie Hawkins dance, I guess that means I'd better act fast before someone steals away my first choice. Brandon Kobel, will you go to the dance with me?

I think my answer might be sort of predictable, but in the interest of doing this right!

Yes, I would love to go to the dance with you, Laura Siodmak.

Am I expected to bring you a corsage to match your shoes, or is this as far as the role-switching goes?

I hope that's as far as it goes, because I think you'd look better in a dress than I would!

Thank you, I think I would too.

I can't decide if this dance's theme calls for actual costumes, or just putting on pretty clothes and enjoying the decorations. Of course, any time we put on a costume we risk being turned into what we're wearing, so if we're dressing up we'd better pick carefully.

I actually meant to say "I know you'd look better". Because you will/do. JSYK.

If it does call for costumes, let's just make sure we dress up as some badass or otherwise totally amazing couple, just in case.

Well, thank you all over again. You look better in a tie than I do, so I think we're even.

Better safe than sorry, and there's no real downside to dressing up as somebody badass, whether we get turned into them or not.

Works for me.

Omg, exactly. Of course, now I'm having a complete mental blank, unless superhero couples count?

If they don't, they should. Although I'm not sure how I feel about running around in a Wonder Woman get-up when the whole rest of the school can see. Just you, that'd be a different story.

We'll have to cast a vote or something. It would be a crime if they didn't count (no pun intended). C'mon, a mutant school, not counting superhero couples? BAH. Insanity!

Absolute insanity.

Brandon.
Speaking of superheroes, I just got my hands on a download of that '90s Fantastic Four movie that New Horizons wants us all to forget about. You should come over and see if it's really that bad.

I would never lie about such a thing. There's a spot on the comforter with your name on it.

Actually, I think it was aliens. And you got the title exactly right, I remember that one. They did it in the remake of the show too. You got a point though, some of all this does kind of remind me of that.

Aliens! My own people, I can't believe I forgot that. Maybe this would be a good time to mention that I'm not behind any of the insulting secrets although a few of the non-insulting ones have struck a little close to home.

Careful now, they just might disown ya for not making the association. And I don't think anybody with a half a brain would really think you were behind any of those as it is.

A borderline unforgivable act, I can hardly blame you.
